A PERFECT SUMMER WEDDING AT SPENCER’S AT THE WATERFRONT IN BURLINGTON

Fiona and Cory met at a bar in St. Catherine’s in 2017. Seven years later, they married at Unity Church and continued their celebration at Spencer’s at the Waterfront! Fiona and Cory’s wedding was one of the most beautiful weddings I have had the honour of planning and designing. Inspired by toile, we found the balance between feminine and timeless, focusing on the traditional blue and white colours of toile with gentle touches of pink scattered throughout.

Personal Wedding Ceremony at Unity Church in Caledonia, Ontario

Fiona and Cory had their wedding ceremony at Unity Church in Caledonia. The church, which was built in 1860, has been in Fiona’s family for over 100 years. This added a special significance to the location. Fiona’s uncle also officiated the wedding, making the ceremony deeply meaningful to the couple and their families—something that might not have been as personal at a traditional venue like Spencer’s. The historic building and surrounding grounds created a peaceful, quiet ambiance for the wedding ceremony.

Fiona and Corey later took photos around the grounds, taking advantage of the grassy fields and blooming flowers. I grew up in Caledonia, so planning this wedding was especially significant for me! When they learned this, Fiona and Cory were even more excited to work together. They knew that I would bring a small-town touch to planning their wedding, which they both loved.

Wedding Reception at Spencer’s at the Waterfront in Burlington, Ontario

After the ceremony, the wedding guests joined the couple at Spencer’s at the Waterfront in Burlington, Ontario. With its glass walls and large windows, the reception room looked out over the waters and skyway bridge and let in lots of natural light to illuminate the gorgeous detail that went into planning this event.

Each place setting had a toile-inspired plate, blue glassware, and fresh blooms by Forever Wildfield. Even the cake by The Dessert Room had blue and white toile accents. The couple set up a loveseat with flowers to serve as a photo booth so they could remember everyone who came to celebrate with them. The night ended with a full dance floor and late-night snacks of chips and cinnamon buns!
